If you've read anything else Ive said about painting you probably realize by now I sound like a broken record. Preparation, Preparation, Preparation. It's still the key to a long lasting paint or stain job. Just like exterior house painting mildew has to be killed and the substrate whether its a fence, deck or house has to be pressure washed to remove all the dirt and grime to prepare for the primer, paint or stain. You would be amazed at what can happen to an old fence or deck after properly pressure washed and prepped and then a new fresh coat of stain and sealer or quality paint can do.
